What a #WCC23 #chess match! Ding going for it all in the last rapid tiebreak was right out of a fictional playbook for the most exciting possible match. I still wish the match weren’t decided in rapid games, but at least it wasn’t blitz or Armageddon (ugh)! And those last moments at the board with Nepo…devastation. All the drama you could ask for. #NepoDing
The #NepoDing World #Chess Championship has brought all the thrills a viewer could want. Very human play, constantly trading punches, and tied 6-6 with two games to go! I do hope it is decided by the next two games because I hate that the classical championship breaks ties with faster time controls. I've been rooting for #Ding but seeing how #Nepo looked when he lost the thread and then the game was heartbreaking. #WCC23
I have to say, I don't understand the whingeing about #Picard. It's not the continuation of TNG, nor do I think it was meant to be. It was meant to be a fitting end to TNG, pointing the way to the true successor.
You know, that one with the Captain Christopher who is so much more handsome than this Christopher.
Wired: sharing how #Mastodon works, how to find people and build community, success stories.
Tired: speculating about others’ motives and authenticity because they have an interest in features that aren’t implemented, the size of their community, people or organizations they feel they need to be comfortable here.
Where the real chilling effect should be happening is institutions dumping Proctorio, which is a shit product based on educationally perverse principles to begin with. What a travesty. → https://social.coop/@Ammienoot@social.ds106.us/110232875827481094
Say what you will about Dave Matthews, but boy does he find some tasty #guitar tones.

Speaking of #NepoDing, someone kindly translated some interviews with Ding. Seriously cool given how little of this sort of thing is available in English. And Ding does seem like a good human. → https://old.reddit.com/r/chess/comments/12pd15y/the_meaning_of_life_is_in_those_sparkling_moments/
