The breathlessness and mini-panics about ChatGPT are astonishing. Have people been asleep for the last...10 years? The only surprising thing is that it didn't emerge a few years ago. That and the dismissive smugness...so many act as if a technology that is essentially a toddler is at the end of its evolution. The really wild stuff is yet to come.
